He partnered with Texas Real Estate Developer and Film Financier Stephen Bowen to Launch Waterstone Entertainment, LLC in 2011, a full service television and film development, production, finance and distribution company based in Beverly Hills, Ca and represented by Jay Cohen, a partner at The Gersh Agency in Los Angeles.
Waterstone Entertainment’s projects include, “THE LETTER” a psychological thriller starring Oscar nominated actors James Franco and Wynona Ryde which was acquired by Lionsgate, “BIG GAME”, Altitude Produced Action Adventure, Starring Samuel L Jackson, which was Acquired by Europacorp / Relativity at TIFF 2014 and was the second highest sale at the festival, “BACKSTABBING FOR BEGINNERS” Starring Theo James and Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley with the script written by Daniel Pyne and Directed by Per Fly which was acquired by A24, “HAPPY HUNTING” which was the directorial debut of Louie Gibson and Joe Dietsch and the SCREAMFEST 2016 Best Cinematography winner, acquired by Vertical Entertainment/ Netflix, “SUBMERGENCE” Starring Oscar winner Alicia Vikander and James McAvoy scripted by Erin Dignam and directed by multi Oscar Nominated Director Wim Wenders which premiered opening weekend at TIFF 2017 and was acquired by Samuel Goldwyn Films / Sony & “JOSIE” Starring Sophie Turner and Dylan McDermott, with the 2014 blacklist script written by Anthony Ragnone and Directed by Eric England which was the opening night film and Best Genre Film, Best Actress and Best Screenplay winner at the 2018 Mammoth Film Festival, which was acquired by Screen Media Films.
Waterstone’s development titles include the #1 best selling self-help book of all time “THE GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD” producing with Dave Blanchard, CEO of The Og Group, Inc and many additional titles. Waterstone partnered with N.A.S.A to help raise their profile and awareness for current and future projects in Hollywood. In December 2011, Jeff was named one of the top Dealmakers in Hollywood by Variety Magazine and is believed to hold the distinction of being the youngest person to receive this honor. In 2009 he was named the top Producer in hollywood under 30 by 944 Magazine. Prior to Waterstone Entertainment, Jeff launched and was the President of Production at Queen Nefertari Productions, A feature film production and finance company with well known philanthropist and investor Cynthia Stafford & Producer Lanre Idewu.
Mr. Kalligheri was charged with ramping up the company’s feature film slate as well as financing and/or co-financing 3 to 6 motion pictures per year, expanding their brand awareness and recognition as well as mitigating risk in their investments. Within two years, he brought the company from an unknown to one of “The Top Five Companies to Know” In Hollywood by The Hollywood Reporter (September 23, 2010) Mr. Kalligheri also owned and operated Dolce Vita Productions, a full service television, film and digital production company, specializing in every phase of enter- tainment production as well as consulting and funding, and maintained offices in Boston and Los Angeles. Mr. Kalligheri launched Dolce Vita in August 1999 and in ten years grew the company into an entertainment powerhouse, consulting on such hit feature films as Warner Bros.’ Academy Award® winning film The Departed, Walt Disney’s The Game Plan, as well as television shows including ABC’s The Bachelor, & Food Network’s Dinner Impossible. During his tenure with Dolce Vita, Mr. Kalligheri developed and produced a number of television and film projects in Massachusetts, while spearheading an initiative to spike the number of entertainment productions in the state, and advocating for tax incentives in the region to attract Hollywood business.
Jeff lured hundreds of millions of dollars in entertainment investments and projects to his home state despite the many challenges he initially faced. He played a major role in turning New England into the biggest entertainment center on the east coast and a hub for Hollywood productions despite its long winters and it being 3000 miles away from Los Angeles. Prior to Dolce Vita, during the 1990’s, Mr. Kalligheri served as the President of Backflip Online Entertainment (Backflip.com), a successful online entertainment venture he launched while in high school and subsequently sold to two former founding Executives of Netscape with dreams of rivaling Yahoo! as the Premier Internet Search Engine at the time! Mr. Kalligheri is actively involved in a number of philanthropic causes. Mr Kalligheri is also a frequent guest speaker at the International TV and Film Finance Summit held twice a year in New York City and Los Angeles, The Winston Baker/Variety Film Finance Series, multiple film festivals, government sponsored entertainment panels, & has also been invited as a guest lecturer at the world renowned Emerson College in Boston & UCLA in Los Angeles for their Graduate and Undergraduate Film programs.
